A native New Yorker, Amy Schulster is an Aerialist, Dancer, and Choreographer as well as Corrective Exercise and Barefoot Training Specialist. She graduated with honors from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Dance and Urban Design.
After many years of performing in New York City, she moved to Brattleboro to join the ProTrack program at the New England Center for Circus Arts in 2015. Immediately upon graduating from circus school, Amy joined Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance in Boulder, Colorado to perform with the professional company and teach in the school. Since returning to NYC, for the past 2 years she’s collaborated with aerial partner Christie Palermo as their aerial duo "Femmes de Flight" as well as performed solo.
She’s aspiring to create and produce her own work, as well as collaborate and share her process with others. As a professional performer, she specializes in Dance and Static Trapeze, Static and Aerial Chinese Pole, invented apparatus, all forms of dance, and soon to come, object manipulation and juggling. She’s looking forward to the future and is very happy to be joining Aerial Horizon!
3.5 hours of #fabrictheory#training with @aerial.design led to creating some pretty amazing drops!👏Aerial Barbie wasn’t scared to drop them though. Look how happy she is about our creations! They totally work on @cirque.dolls, so maybe we’ll work up the nerve to drop them tomorrow...🤡
